Update : Healing isn’t glamorous . It’s not all magic , fireworks and unicorns . Nor does it happen over night . Healing , whether it’s physical , mental or emotional is a process. It’s going to be painful , slow, overwhelming and straight up, a pain in your ass . It’s been over a month, and I haven’t done yoga . I feel tightness taking over my entire body. It’s made me moody, emotional , angry , easily irritated and so much more . The worst are Instagram videos 🙈 I’ll go on Instagram and see yoga videos of sequences and flows. And it sucks not being able to practice or learn from them . But I’m guessing , the second month will be better. I can identify my negative thoughts when they come up. And instead of pushing them away and distracting myself ; I’m changing the conversation in my head. To shift it from self pity and feeling like a victim to, a more positive one. I’m focusing on my healing . Healing now so I can be better than what I was yesterday . Becoming the healthiest version of you , takes time. You will get better . You will get there! Improve your strengths , develop your weakness . Make sure self awareness is there throughout your growth phase . You can do this ! While reading one of the texts for my philosophy class, I came upon this passage ~ “How, for example, can it be the case that the world contained nothing but unconscious physical particles, and yet that it also contains consciousness? How can a mechanical universe contain intentionalistic human beings - that is, human beings that can represent the world to themselves? How, in short, can an essentially meaningless world contain meaning?” ~ This got me to thinking a lot about this upcoming holiday. We give this world meaning, our worldly consciousness ignites the very essence of our human form in nature. With our intentions WE can control everything perceived about this lifetime ~ My intentions this week are sheer thankfulness. I am thankful to be living among you beautiful beings. As you may all know that twist yoga poses helps digestive system as well as wring out the toxins. Aside from that it also twist also rehydrate and lubricate the spinal joints. But what we must be careful of twist, if there’s imbalances in the spine that could affect the pelvic girdle as well as the SI Joint. Twist can also make things worst with SI Joint dysfunction as well as any present lower back pain. Most standing poses with a twist will be riskier for the pelvic girdle since the bottom part of the body is meant to bear the upper body, this could affect the lumbar joints as well as growing concerns of SI Joint Dysfunction. The supine twist is less riskier for the pelvic area, since it’s less weight bearing and focused more on the upper part of the spine, shoulder girdle. The seated twist poses is better for the pelvic girdle, since it’s anchoring the hip and allows the spine to twist from thoracic and shoulder girdle. Here’s what we need to consider during twist, less is more. The deeper the twist, the riskier it is for your hip, spine and shoulders. The less deeper the twist is, more room for joints, more stability and more functional it is to the body. The next time you twist, think about space and stability, and work more with breath to actually wring toxins out. . . .
